HOW MUCH AREA
WILL X-100 DECK FINISH COVER?
On new pressure treated decking a gallon of X-100 New Deck Finish will cover
300 square feet. On old, seasoned, or weathered decking a gallon of X-100 New
Deck Finish will cover 200 SF depending on the porosity of the surface. For
best results the X-100 Deck Finish System should be applied to dry wood. Do
not apply if rain is forecast during the next 36 hours.
HOW DO YOU APPLY X-100 NEW DECK FINISH?
Apply X-100 Pre Finish and
New Deck Finish with a brush, long handled staining pad or a low pressure sprayer.
Work the product vigorously into the decking. Do not allow New Deck Finish to
puddle. Do NOT apply this product with a roller!!
Apply as much X-100 Deck
Finish as the wood will absorb to reach a uniform appearance. Please note that
the same piece of wood will absorb differently in certain areas.
Keep a wet edge to avoid lap marks.
After X-100 Pre Finish has flash dried for 30 minutes or more apply a second
coat of X-100 New Deck Finish to complete your application.
X-100 requires a minumum
of 48 hours to dry. Each horizontal surface may have different drying times
due to variations in porosity.
The X-100 Deck Finish System
is designed for Exterior Use Only! Do Not use this product on the Interior of
your home.
Use mineral spirits or
dish detergent to clean brushes and pads used to apply X-100 Deck Finish. If
X-100 Deck Finish should get on surfaces such as glass, paint, metal, caulking
or rubber remove immediately with dish detergent. If a spill is dry remove with
mineral spirits.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MAINTAIN A DECK TREATED WITH THE X-100 DECK FINISH SYSTEM?
Atmospheric pollutants and
ordinary abrasive foot traffic will leave dirt on deck surfaces. Rainwater alone
does not wash such deposits away. After a consistent rain, squeegee the deck
surface. ( Note: On stubborn dirt areas use a mild dish detergent and water
solution with a mild brushing action to remove dirt, then rinse with water.)
In the spring and the fall
wash your deck with X-180 Weathered Wood Restorer. In high traffic areas an
annual maintenance coat of X-100 New Deck Finish is recommended to maintain
best appearance and maximum protection.
